phyllis clapis

Phyllis Clapis, rhythm guitarist in the musical accompaniment for the film short "The Life of Marianne", is an assistant professor of Physical Therapy at American International College in Springfield, MA. When she’s not teaching or exercising outdoors, she’s playing her guitar, pretending to be one of the Indigo Girls. Phyllis’ musical career began at age 12 when she taught herself to play the guitar. In college, Phyllis stopped playing basketball for the University of Connecticut to perform in a rock band. Shortly afterward, she realized her career was more suited to one of academics rather than to music, but still finds time to enjoy her guitar when she can.
