Mom: I'm going to come visit you this Sunday for Mother's day, but I'm going to a church that's closing first. After the mass is over we're going to all grab onto the pews when the police come in and try to close the church, so if you don't hear from me I might have gotten arrested, okay? 01.23.05 Mom: do you know what you just did? Beth: no, what? Mom: you just turned on music in the kitchen and left the room! Beth: so what? I wanted to listen to it and went to the other room. I can still hear it. Mom: what do you think you're trying to pull? You think I don't know what's going on? Beth: mom, I wanted to listen to music and looked through my cds to see what you might like, and I thought you'd like david gray. Mom: you turned on music and left the room and blared it so that I could hear it. And the song was "dead in the water"!!! How dare you play that song for me! And you think I'm paranoid! Well if you think I'm paranoid you should be a little more sensitive about it, and not go around playing music like that for me!! Beth: mom, I wasn't trying to say anything! ::mom leaves room:: Nathan, listening intently, starts playing music and leaves. Comes back into the room. Nate: I don't think anyone realizes what I just did. Beth: no Nathan, no one realizes what you just did. Nate: I started playing "cold hard bitch" and left. 01.23.05 Shoveling- mom comes when we’re halfway done Beth: well, look who showed up! Mom: sorry, I had a phone call B: yeah, prolly cause you left the phone off the hook all day. M: so what if I did? B: well, now people are trying to call you. M: why, was the phone off the hook? B: mom, yes, you just said you took it off the hook. M: I did? Where? B: in the tv room! M: I did not! B: yes, and now you got a phone call since it’s been off the hook M: I wasn’t on the phone! A DAD quote- sometime when I was 16 or so. Beth: Dad, can you give me a ride to Exeter? Dad: Why? Beth: I want to go visit some friends. Dad: Are there BOYS in this group of friends? Beth: Yes, in fact, all of them are boys. Dad: They're ALL boys? Beth: Yes. It's a boys' dorm. Dad: A BOYS DORM!?! MY DAUGHTER IS GOING TO A BOYS DORM! Beth: It's okay, Dad! I know them all really well. Dad: THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M WORRIED ABOUT!
